Moira Dumo Rios is a San Francisco native, alumni of Phillip & Sala Burton Academic High School and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Central State University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. In her previous roles as BMAGIC’s Program Coordinator and Community Outreach & Program Assistant, Moira assisted with the planning and coordination of BMAGIC’s Literacy is Freedom Book Fair, Back to School Celebration & Backpack Giveaway, Bayview Hunters Point National Night Out, and the production of the bi-annual BMAGIC Resource Guide. As MAGIC’s Associate Director, Moira looks forward to continuing her support and collaboration with all of the organizations, agencies and schools that strengthen and serve Bayview Hunters Point and Fillmore children, youth and families.
Efrain Barrera has over 22 years of experience in the field of education, nonprofits, and serving migrant families and youth. Efrain has proudly led and championed the Mission Promise Neighborhood collective impact Prenatal to Career initiative at Mission Economic Development Agency (MEDA) since 2018. During his tenure, Efrain has worked closely with the 15 MPN community partners to deliver supportive services in partnership with San Francisco Unified School District and City of San Francisco while implementing shared data and comprehensive strategies to close the opportunity gaps and root out poverty for San Francisco’s children and families.
Prior to joining MEDA, Efrain worked for SFUSD as a Community School Coordinator at two MPN schools where he led coherent and integrated programs and services benefiting students, educators and school communities. He immigrated to San Francisco's Mission District from El Salvador at the age of 15. He attended Mission High School and the University of California Berkeley, graduating with a bachelor's in Sociology and Education. Efrain serves on the Board of Directors at Jamestown Community Center and is a Concilio member of the San Francisco Latino Parity and Equity Coalition. Efrain is fortunate to call the Mission District home for the last 30 years and is accompanied on this journey by his librarian wife, 2 kids, 2 rescue fury friends and 3 cats.
Christina Villaseñor Perry is an educator and non-profit leader with over fifteen years of experience. She is driven by a deep belief in the power of youth voice and the promise of public schools. Christina began her career teaching special education in Los Angeles and San Francisco before joining the staff of 826 Valencia in 2013. As the Associate Director, she oversees internal operations, including exemplary free writing programs across three centers and a dozen school sites in San Francisco serving upwards of 5,000 students annually.
Dr. Misty Patton is a proud 2nd generation product of the Bay View Hunters Point district. She is an experienced leader, with a demonstrated history of working in higher education as a University Professor for a Senior WSCUC accredited institution, and as a Education Program Manager for Stanford University.
Social & Behavioral Research, Medicine, and Education are all passions of hers, and those very skills are allowing her to help the community here at 3rd Street Youth Center & Clinic. Being back in the community to which she was born has been a “dream come true” and she looks forward to all the work she will be able to do over the years with the organization and for the community.
Kevin Hickey's career is built on helping youth and families achieve economic success. He currently serves as the Chief Program Officer at New Door Ventures, where he leads youth employment programs and public policy advocacy efforts on behalf of children, youth, and families. He has 15+ years of teaching experience at the University of San Francisco (USF) and San Francisco State University, and was awarded the USF Distinguished Adjunct Faculty Award. Kevin also serves on the Board of Directors of the National Youth Employment Coalition. Kevin is a proud veteran of the United States Navy.
Denny David is a nonprofit leader who has been active in San Francisco's youth development field for over 20 years. His work has focused on youth leadership in LGBTQQ, anti-violence, and immigrant rights movements. Currently, he serves as the Chief Financial Officer at The Richmond District Neighborhood Center, where he leads the finance and operations functions. He is passionate about strategic financial leadership in the nonprofit sector, working to build financially healthy organizations that help marginalized children, youth, and families thrive.
Frederique has over 20 years of social service experience. She has improved the social economic conditions of disenfranchised communities by developing, implementing, and evaluating programs. Prior to becoming the Friends – SF Program Director in September 2016, she was the Associate Director of Community Programs at the SF LGBT Community Center where she leveraged a 500 member volunteer corps and oversaw its Drop-In Space for homeless youth. As the Director of Youth Services for the Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center, Frederique oversaw all programs and placed 150 youth with involvement in juvenile justice, foster care and truancy at worksites each year. Frederique brings significant experience in administering programs to meet grant requirements from her roles as Grant Compliance Officer and Planning Council Administrator in Santa Clara.
Throughout her career, Frederique has developed and sustained collaborative partnerships with governmental agencies, community based organizations and other stakeholders. She has also been a Legislative Aid for an Oakland Councilmember and Site Coordinator for San Francisco Unified School District’s Wellness Center Initiative at Mission and Thurgood Marshall High Schools. Frederique holds a Master’s in Public Policy in the Urban School of Management from The New School of Social Research, and has an undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Cornell University.
