Born and raised in San Diego, Madison graduated from the University of San Diego with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Childhood Development emphasis, and Political Studies, Social Justice Studies emphasis. She later went on to obtain a Master’s degree in Urban and Public Affairs from the University of San Francisco. She wrote her thesis on San Francisco's legislation to close its juvenile hall and the learnings that could be used to support other cities looking to engage in similar work.
Madison has worked with children for over ten years through various positions in childcare, schools, and community centers. She joined Boys & Girls Club of San Francisco in 2018 as the Director of Advocacy and Government Relations where she was responsible for driving and implementing an advocacy and engagement strategy with critical government partners as well as managing government funding streams. She also oversaw the organization’s mentorship and youth advocacy programs.
Madison has participated in the Service Providers Working Group for the past six years and served as a Chair for three of those years. She has helped lead critical work for the group including budget advocacy, membership engagement/education, DCYF special initiative support, Children's First Stakeholder Engagement Process, and more. She was a fundamental part of driving the work to obtain grant funds to support the building of SPWG’s infrastructure and Wage Equity work.
